Danny's Climate Story

Danny's Climate Story

How are you sensing climate change?

Growing up Christmas Eve was always cold. It didn't always snow but you could count on it being cold. I used to dread the short time I had to spend outside on this day - the short walk from my house to my family's car and the slightly longer short walk from the car to my family's Church for Christmas Eve mass. We always wore our heaviest winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarfs and piled them in the pew. Yet, in recent years things have become much more unpredictable. One year it was colder than it's ever been - the next it was almost 70 degrees. It was so hot one year that as I stood up during Mass (having stubbornly still wore my winter coat) I fainted in the Church because it was so hot.

These changes make me uncomfortable and uneasy - I miss knowing what to expect for the weather. I never know what the weather is going to be nowadays.
