Santiago's Climate Story
Title
Santiago's Climate Story
Name
Santiago
Place
Buenos Aires
How are you sensing climate change?
In winter, temperatures have been rising. I used to wear big jackets when I was a child almost every day during the months of June and July. Now, I barely wear it, and I just wear sweaters. In summer, rains and storms are more frequent and bigger. If you go to the beach, people need to remain in their houses for some days because of violent storms that are similar to what you can see in other parts of the world, like the Caribbean.
At first, I did not pay attention to it. But now I have become extremely anxious about this. Specially when I see the impact of summer storms on poor neighborhoods near the coast.
